I joined Hostway in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2014. It was my first environment where I was working in a team of 6, using Scrum, developing RESTful APIs, using Python and working on cloud infrastructure before the hype hit.

The architecture was defined as having public APIs and Service APIs. Each web application was calling the public API, which in turn called the Service API.
When I started, the team was called "Team 6" (later renamed to "Web & Apps"), and it was consisting of 6 members (me included). The team was responsible for the public and service APIs, services managing portal, Open Xchange integration and later on automation for provisioning of managed services as Wordpress and Magento. The team itself was truly a team, like a family. The Scrum master, was also the most senior engineer, always there for the team, always willing to help or guide you through. He was and still is my role model for being a good team lead.
I could not share much about the release process, as I never was involved in it.
